Penguin Land Review - Yet another good game I'm no good at.

Anyone who enjoys this type of game will probably LOVE Penguin Land. Hell, I like it, and I'm awful at it!

I know I had this game as a kid, but I hardly remember it at all. But your review has reminded me that it was the first game I played with a level editor, which was totally new to me. I spent most of my time with this game making levels rather than trying to play the main game. I guess that's the gaming equivalent of playing with the box it came in.

@JimPlaysGames I'd have done the same thing as a kid. I don't think I got to mess around with a level editor until ZZT for DOS, and I didn't find that until we were already in the Pentium era.

I always loved the IDEA of this game and it was always hard to resist its cute graphics (the polar bears "I just punched you in the face" animation is ace!) and sharp colours, but as you can imagine I usually rage quit this sucker within the first two to three levels.

I am SO very tempted to do a remake of this game as I think it has a lot of potential that is hidden away by the games ridiculous difficulty curve...

I love your video reviews that you are doing for the Master System. As for the contest to win the extra copy of Penguin Land, I think you should do it for your 50th sub, or I also like your idea of giving it to someone who can beat the 1st level of the game, because I as well have never done it..... lol

@zavias I'm leaning toward not giving it to a particular subscriber number, to avoid having someone win who might not want it. A video response contest is my favorite idea at the moment, because it could be a lot of fun, but as I said I'm not sure how many folks are willing or able to post a video.

Great review. I don't remember this game - looks like the kind of thing I wouldn't have played as a kid but would enjoy now. If I still had my SMS I'd be begging for your spare copy lol
