  • After watching this, I'm sure as hell glad I didn't go to college. And no, I don't have a crappy job. College doesn't even guarantee a good job or an interesting job. The difference between me and college graduates is that I don't have a boatload of debt to pay off.

Being a "slacker" has its benefits.

  • Your school sold you out.

  • I KNEW IT!! I knew colleges and loan/credit card companies are working together.

  • @kkliper

Where were in back in 2006? You could have convinced me otherwise..

  • So far the past 3 college debt horror stories that I've come across have been from students who went to NYU. Coincidence?

  • Rachel solomon you are a moron! If you are smart enough to go to college you are smart enough to understand personal finance.

  • This student may have gotten a better deal if she hadn't gone to college at all. College isn't like the movie "Animal House" any more. It's more like the TV show "The Untouchables", where the gangsters engage in loan sharking and extortion and demand protection money. They don't just kill you--they extort money out of you for the rest of your life, like Sallie Mae. High school counselors and Oprah are probably getting kickbacks from Sallie Mae when they tell people to go to college.
