@Bdwaybuff I'm not dumb. I know music very well. I know Midler wasn't the original. I didn't say she was but her voice is the only one meant for this song in MY opinion.

I do have to agree that perhaps this is not the best song for such a beautiful voice. She's got an amazing talent that needs more nurturing. It is so refreshing to be able to hear a voice full of talent and promise instead of this auto-tuned crap so popular today. Keep it up, sweetie! I can't belt out anything half as good in my shower, let alone on video for millions to see!

But I just didn't like it. I have a thing about people redoing songs by original singers that are the only ones that can pull it off. Not that she's bad, but her voice is too heavy for this song. My suggestion, don't mess with perfection. Some songs need to just be left as they were. Bette Midler's voice was the only one meant for this song.

@tknicol I find it odd that a 10 year old girl should not sing a song simply because Bette Midler sang the song and we should not mess with perfection.Bette will be the first to admit that she is not perfect. As for it being too heavy that is a matter of opinion and will be taken on board when she does some more singing lessons.
