Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance: Battle of Yavin Part 3 - Death Star Trench Run

This is a custom shipset that I worked on for the PC game X-Wing Alliance. The shipset is divided up into 3 missions: Part 1 Destroy Deflection Towers, Part 2 Destroy Enemy TIEs, and part 3 the Death Star Trench Run.

Using Hernan's Death Star model, as well as Master Qui-Gon's Death Star surface, trench and exhaust port models, I tried to recreate the best Battle of Yavin missions I could. I tried to get them as movie-accurate as possible. I am also using the craft updates from xwaupgrade.com, which is why the crafts look so much better.

The third and final part. Gold Squadron is gone and Red Leader is down. It's up to Luke, Biggs and Wedge to make one last trench run and save the Alliance from destruction.

Unlimited Ammo - Off

Yes, I'm using Fraps now, so no more hearing my squeaky joystick. I got a new one that doesn't squeak anyway.

There was plans for a Battle of Hoth conversion for XWA but eventually that project died. I was part of the mod team, I was assigned to record voices from the movie. It had a lot of promise, I wish it got made.

I'm so hurt...you did a great job on the voice Red Leader! For the most part the BOH shipset got done but my website got taken down. There was more we could have added but the sample mission and all craft were completed. Great to see you still pressing on here!

Great video, the only thing that bothers me is the speed though. The X-Wing games are fantastic (especially Tie-Fighter), but they're just not fast enough to mimic their namesake.
