This is truly beautiful. Graceful, beautiful, 1000-armed Quan Yin/Avalokiteshvara --each hand ready to help sentient beings. What a gift to this world!
This vision of beauty is astonishing. It goes beyond anything the west has ever dreamed. The Goddess of Mercy came from the original Buddhist archetype of Compassion. And yet originally, Avolokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion, was male. The Chinese were not able to understand that a man might be compassionate. For them Compassion must be a female thing. In fact, the feminine aspect of Compassion is the active Tara, sister of Avalokiteshvara --- born from his tears.

thank you, John Bronca - The dance stands and moves alone in its wonder; hard to treble wonder but your words certainly did
