  • We start out being a bit awkard with eachother, exchange a few frivolities, enjoy eachother's company, have a bit more wine, get cantankerous, and, pick faults in eachother, and it descends into a sort of bitter unhappy meal.

Wow, that sums up so many relationships I've had. This show is amazing. I need to get it.

  • @DannyFC True about American drama, but British/Irish standups, sketch shows, and comedy panel shows are way better.

  • lots of pluggin of other shows from other areas of the globe etc on this thread. Why dont you tv exec/ad men just kill yourselves. This IS comedy for me and i dont want to read or hear about your crap. F off

  • @lotta699 It's all relative, for every show like this there are a hundred generic by the numbers 'safe' sitcoms. Britain has good comedy series but North American is far superior in terms of drama, we have nothing that stands up to HBO or AMC.

  • @verosapphire You'd really appreciate Peep Show Season 1 & 2 then, most of the comedy is derived from everyday conversational exchanges between the two leads and it's sublime. Unfortunately, the latter seasons rely more on surreal situational comedy

  • its really great that the British uses banter between two characters as comedy so well. this show is fantastic and there are other shows that focus on 2 characters conversations. another example of this would be how noel fielding and julian barret used to talk a lot in the first season of the mighty boosh

  • steve coogan always sighs as soon as bryan does a voice lol

  • "DESPerate to be taken seriously, aren't you?"

  • @benanr90 Yeah, you know what? I'm also Canadian, and I've never in my adult life (I'm 42) found North American cable worth paying for. When I'm abroad, however, I watch TV whenever I'm indoors - it's far superior. In AUS, I got especially hooked on QI with Stephen Fry, but that's just one of many shows so worth the time!

Even the kid's shows are much better. ::sigh::

  • haha, i laughed so loud at the last line i just woke my girlfriend up
