It cost $65,000 to get rid of the flies. Home owner battles sewer drain moth flies for three years. The flies fly around the home every day, every week, every month. The flies never go away. Pest companies cannot kill the flies. Plumbers cannot kill the flies. Pesticides cannot kill the flies. Finally, $65,000. Later the flies are gone.

  • Marko (sherlock-holmes) Vovk strikes again!

Great Job. (now I know what a "sewer fly" is and why I always see them at the crummy outdoor campground outhouses> yuk

  • Old buildings with bars and restaurants have this problem. The dishwasher hot water keeps them living

  • Holy cow, when I buy my first home I am getting a thorough sewer line inspection!

  • Geez, that was crazy. The crappy thing is that the previous owner knew about the problem.

  • @neuromanzero

    stil wont work

  • these flys are everywhere in my schools bathroom, ..F..ing gross

  • This video was most helpful. We have this very exact same problem in the duplex home we rent. We thought they were fruit flies but the smell under this slab home is horrible. Recently we have noticed we are all getting sick on both sides of the house and these flies are every where in the house. And now mold is forming too. Thank you do much for this video. We now know what is going on.

  • I have this same problem but thank god I rent...One thing I will check for next time will be to look for these aweful flies...You can't get rid of them without spend a ton..

  • must be nice to have $65,000 to take out some flies!......nice documentation guys.

  • i have a similar problem with drainflies and have only recently discovered that its because there is a crack in the waste water pipe that takes water from my flat and those above me directly into the sewer and thats how they are getting in (not to mention the reason my hall floor kept getting soaked for no reason) apparently though it isnt enough of a health hazzard for me to get out of my flats contract early (might take it to court tbh!).

  • Draino is a strong base, not acid.

  • Nice job and a very impressive video.

  • Incredible story; you have to feel sorry for the folks who took on that house. Well documented.

  • what would you have done, genius? Talked down the drains asking them to go away? He's not gonna use something not fit for the job. He found the source, that's what she wanted.

  • How long have you been in pest control?Your a idiot! It is most common when you have a ongoing drain fy problem that you have a sewer leak! And I would like to know what Chemical product is labeled to be applied into sewer drains. The label is LAW!! I think you need to be reported to your local controlling board. Next time get some experts involved.

  • Holy shit!!! I thought my work had it bad!! I hope that house was worth it. Geez.... Sorry to hear about that trouble.

  • wow. amazing diagnosis and fix. house does not look like its worth the 100,000 upgrades ontop of the 65,000 repair.

  • sad, but somebody got a nice check.

  • Great video, Marko. Thankfully, I have not run across such a thing (yet?)! Now I'll know what to look for. Love the Christmas lights. Did you guys have a festive pary down there? Watch out for mistletoe....
