http://Shop.StrongerTeam.com - We believe in reinforcing sound work habits on a daily basis. One of the habits we constantly reinforce is the desire to compete. Winning is important. Wanting to win, preparing to win, and competing to win all go hand in hand.

"Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing."

We aim to establish a winning culture in all of our off-season workouts as we are confident this mind-set will carry over to the season. Most of the time we have our players compete against themselves (try to beat a previous effort, weight or time)... but occasionally we have them compete against one another.

Here are a variety of competitive conditioning drills we use during the off-season and pre-season. These "races" were designed to work on reaction, agility, and basketball specific conditioning. Players and teams were awarded points after each race to promote accountability.

The first 3 drills were done at 50-60% of maximum effort as part of our warm-up. Everything after that was 100% and competitive! Races included: triangle agility with full court sprint, sprint vs. backpedal, center circle chase, inside-out full court gauntlet, and 3 cone lane drill.

The entire workout only lasted 30 minutes. When it comes to competing, we want to stress quality over quantity.

NOTE: I apologize it says the word "b---h" in the title. I intentionally downloaded the clean/radio version of the sound to avoid explicit lyrics!

  • Do you believe a High School Varsity should be conditioning in the last week of the season?

  • That depends on a variety of factors, can't really give a 'yes' or a 'no.'

  • Love how the guys gave 100% no quitters! Inspiring

  • Thanks! We have a great group of guys!

  • Coaches under estimate the importance of conditioning

  • The smart ones don't :)

  • All you can do is make sure YOU prepare properly!

  • im not sure if this is good but my coach doesn't do any stretching we just go straight into high intensity skills drills and i usually feel so tight and sore as compared to when i stretch on my own basketball practice

  • Absolutely my pleasure, thank YOU!

  • Ha ha, me too!
