Police called to disturbance at CHS
CARLSBAD — Police were called and several students were handcuffed and briefly detained following a protest that school officials said became disruptive Thursday morning at Carlsbad High School.
Although there were no arrests, as many as 11 students were suspended for two days, school officials said.
The incident began when a group of about 80 students staged a sit-in in the corridor of the main building on campus with hopes of convincing school officials to permanently allow students to wear "in memoriam" shirts to school, said CHS Principal Ray Burrola. The shirts have been created to honor the memory of recently slain student Joseph Garcia, and other recently deceased students.

ive had a few family members die and we never make t shirts for them...in my opinion, they're trashy...you don't need a shirt for someones memory to be kept alive...
