Unite to defeat attempts to belittle Victories: Mahanayaka-11-01-09

President of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Sangha Sabha the Most Ven. Kotugoda Dhammawasa thera has said that everyone should unite to defeat attempts by certain elements to undermine the dedications of the war heroes, risking their lives to free the country from terrorism....Giving views to ITN, the prelate said the President, after assuming office had straight forwardly said he would unleash operations until the last terrorist is crushed. The nation lauded this effort. The President had also said that the battle is not against any community and that his main aim was to eliminate terrorism. He will continue this effort. This, the prelate said had bolstered the morale of the forces. The Mahanayake opined that not a single leader had hitherto directly said they would get involved in the issue. Some are attempting to paralyse these efforts. He appealed to the Government and those involved in the administration to join hands in strengthening the President, putting aside parochial differences.
