Two Fox CT journalists say they were assaulted by man accompanying a woman who was to appear in Superior Court to answer charges that she received stolen beer from Hartford Distributors shooter Omar Thornton.

Two Fox CT journalists say they were assaulted by man accompanying a woman who was to appear in Superior Court to answer charges that she received stolen beer from Hartford Distributors shooter Omar Thornton.

Reporter George Colli said he and photographer Alan Chaniewski were sprayed with a chemical about 9:45 a.m.

Chaniewski was hit in the face by the spray. He then rushed across the road to an Enfield fire house for first aid. Colli was hit in the head by the spray, and on his clothing.

Enfield police were called and were interviewing Colli and others. The car in which the man was riding sped away, but he was stopped a short time later by Enfield police. Colli was going with police to identify the person who assaulted him and Chaniewski.

"It came out of nowhere," Colli said. "We were just taking pictures of them getting into the car. He grabbed something ... and immediately started spraying."

Thornton shot eight coworkers to death before turning the gun on himself at Hartford Distributors on Aug. 3 after he was confronted with video of himself stealing.

Christy A. Quail, 33, of 13 Burnham St., Enfield, was charged on Aug. 6 with sixth-degree larceny charges and was to appear in court today.

She was captured on video surveillance, recorded by a private investigator hired by Hartford Distributors to follow Thornton after he was suspected of stealing from the company. Thornton gave beer from his truck to Quail in East Windsor, authorities said.

Quail's husband, Sean P. Quail, also 33 and of the same address, was arrested Monday and charged with larceny in connection with the investigation.

He was charged with three counts of sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, police said.

Sean Quail was arrested at 3:28 p.m. Monday on a warrant issued by Enfield Superior court. He was released after posting $1,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 31.

The investigation is ongoing, police said. They do not know whether more arrests are forthcoming.

  • he sprays lysol?

  • @HipieGirl1786 OR mother even, or whoever was stupid enough to do that. The idjit was lucky to get out of there alive, I'm a videographer and if I ever did that to someone I would expect them to pull out a weapon of some sort. I would have to say that if I was to get all up in someone's face in the personal space of their car I would be smart enough to realize that I was risking my life, but you can go ahead and do whatever you want to do.

  • @HipieGirl1786 If my mother or my child were getting into someone's personal space at a critical time like that, I would have expected my stupid wife or child to have been murdered.

  • @PostToastie it was not wiper fluid, numbnuts, it was bug poison used to kill insects. and I promise you if someone did that your mother or child, you would lose it.

  • @PostToastie Haha yeah i understand the personal space but at the same time apparently the guy was a piece of shit and frankly stay under the spot light and you won't have any problems. thats the thing now adays you do something stupid everyone knows. so he probably shouldn't have put himself in that predicament and he would'nt have been video taped. thats the problem nowadays noone will accept the consequences..

  • @BBroering And hopefully the cameraman didn't go sticking his nose in other people's business after that, all it would take is a simple handgun in the glovebox. I'm a videographer and I would never go invading someone's personal space during such an emotional time without realizing that my life was on the line.

  • @PostToastie Acually dude it was raid. probably a like a wask killer. windshield cleaner does not come in aerosole cans and even if it did it would not have a long stream tip. So hell yeah he was smart going to a fire house. As an emt firefighter I wouldn't call him stupid. Hopefully the prick went to jail for it.

  • Bring your camera over here, you little bitch, I'll hose ya down

  • Please mister fireman, hose me down, they tried to kill me !!! whaaaaaa ! ! ! ! oh no !!! windshield wiper fluid, I'm gonna die ! ! ! hose me down, hose me down, ! ! ! ! ! PUSSSY
