Nature's own contribution to the magic of Avebury. Since filming this, visitors have destroyed a large section of this wonderful structure - see my other Avebury video to see what I mean (about the 2:30 point).
Visiting Avebury this week, I notice that these trees are now fenced off for erosion control, as footfalls are now undermining the root structure leaving some parts completely exposed; but people were stepping over the fencing to tie their ribbons to the branches, and encouraging children to do the same.

update: The damaged root area has now been turfed over to help them regrow. I hope it happens.
