Chicago 2011 Blizzard Thundersnow , stuck car on Michigan

Vehicle has problems with a left turn onto Michigan, but it's okay since no one's around. Thundersnow for ambience.

@swarso1 It happens in Chicago because of the ambient heat produced by the city, warms the air up ahead of the front, and when they collide and intermingle not only do you get lake effect snow but you get thunder as well.

If you live in northern Illinois you have to get used to this stuff happening. I am in huntley which is about 1 to 1 1/2 hrs from the city and we didn't get the thunder and lighting.

I was watching the weather during this blizzard because I live in Michigan. Thunder and Lightning is possible because just as with a rain storm..there was lift enough to create the instability for rising clouds to produce thunder/lightning. As it hit my area. The dry slot lessened the snow quite a bit, but Chicago, as you know got hit hard..

That is some crazy weather they were having. I was watching this on tv and was shocked. Thundersnow that is nuts!!!
