After reading "Sybil" and watching the 1976 version of the movie I just had to make a video about the relationship between Sybil and her psychiatrist, Dr. Wilbur. For those of you who don't know the story, Sybil was a woman who suffered from Dissociative Identity Disorder, previously known as Multiple Personality Disorder or even Grande Hysteria. She had sixteen alternate personalities that developed due to a horrifically scarring and abusive childhood. She underwent psychoanalysis for eleven years under the guidance of Dr. Wilbur. They developed a very intense relationship-- understandable since Dr. Wilbur basically saved Sybil's life. This video is about that relationship. About how Dr. Wilbur never gave up on Sybil and "saw her through" to the end. I hope you enjoy! And read the book or watch the movie if you haven't already. You won't be disappointed...

  • yeah, but don't even THINK of watching that horrific remake that they shoved into like a one hour movie for tv.

  • @goodguysdoll

i know i watched like ten minutes and then gave up. it was HORRIBLE. why does hollywood always take things that are already perfect and attempt to make them better? so frustrating.

  • @mcdreamylove93 the movie was disturbing, don't watch either.

  • @mcdreamylove93 Next, they're gonna try to remake Biodome. Come on, Hollywood, you can't improve on a masterpiece!

  • I luv both versions. Please somebody make a third and fourth.

  • @Weenybean My male USA psychiatrist put Janis Joplin to sleep and I don't even remember his name. I was a Janis fan. The pain of that era was just so unbearable. No more Janis Joplin. It triggered deep emotional turmoil. I find that he was right though. If something makes one feel negative then it is best to toss it into the garbage pail. I will pick Coke over wine as one will make me feel more positive. Thinness is more positive than fat. It's just a matter of makeover.

  • A summer project...Dr. Wilbur. A test under microscope. Summer is over. U were interesting enough to visit. Time to move on. William Holden, once told Sybil, to put her fears on the Big Screen, to take a step back & look at it. Sybil wrote "Marnie". Dr. Wilbur was most happy that her patient was "almost cured"..."able to go forward to work on her own without falling to pieces. But, Sybil, could always do that. There is no such thing as a perfect vessel. Sally Fields crawled appropriately.
