  • sillylittlewounds wrote me saying I have no right to tell someone what to believe in. I really don't know why they wrote that, but they wrote it 3 times. I don't get it, She comes to mysite to tell me what to do...And I have no idea what the hell she is talking about and I don't think she knows either.... How do you think I filmed this slava if I knew nothing about it...Sounds like SILLYLITTLEWOUNDS has her own wounds that need healing...May Your God be with you Sillylittlewounds...LOVE

  • @sharkenstein1

    its obviously in america

  • why is it in english if it is in serbia? orthodoxes must pray in their native language....

  • Also to michaelstevens... St. George is one of the most highly venerated saints in the Roman & Eastern Catholic church, as well as in the Orthodox church, and is the saint of many countries. He was a great warrior and a good soldier. There are prayers in the service for Jesus and for his mother the Virgin Mary, if you listen close enough.

There's many traditions, like turning the bread and kissing it 3 times to signify the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit.

    Hope this helps!

  • Just to help clarify some stuff for people, and this may take a few comments.

This is called a Slava (also known as a feast day). It happens once a year to every Serbian Orthodox family, and on different dates. This is St. George which occurs on May 6th. Mine is St. Nick on December 19th.

You can either have many people over and have a larger service either at church or at home, or you can do it like in this video and have a small gathering of close family at the house.

  • why kiss the bread??

  • Christ Said to preach the Gospel to all nations

  • why in english..i don't like it in english at all...
