That 'young kid' is still playing today, he's an English guy called Peter White, google him he has a website.

This period was magical for Al Stewart, everything fell into his lap. The period, the music, the sound, the guitar work and, his voice was the best. Guess you could say he was riding the British invasion wave. Always thought he played a twelve string though.

This song has stuck in my head since I first heard it in 1977. I spent over an hour trying to find it on Utube because I got the title mixed up with some of the words. On the border became on the water. LOL
