  • well hubby and my. i believe artists are free to take creative liberties,, re hair pulling,,i personally dont understand what ie hypersex, is, i believe dancing is ritual sex anyway. i live in ghana and traditional dancing of bobobo among the EWE"S is definately sexy even when the old women do it.

  • @katrachovago LMAO! sit the fuck down idiot. check where the garifuna of central africa comes from. THEY WERE FORMER CARIBBEAN (particularly Jamaican) slaves.

  • @MeAndHubbyToo LOL oh sit down! there are videos such as this found in central african and west africa. Mapouka is FAR more raunchy than this. and you can say "well that's west africa" but guess what? we jamaicans are a combination of central and west african so naturally we will mix the two.

  • i have NEVER seen any performances here on youtube of people riding eachother, but that doesnt mean anything

and i've looked at A LOT of african videos from ALL over the continent

one thing though is that i read in an old book about a music and singing get together in the streets of northern senegal...and the pictures of them dancing casually (but traditionally) did depict a sort of 'riding'...so it must come from the continent, and i too conclude that hubbytoo's eyes are veiled by eurocentrism

  • Beutiful. I love the wheel and tun. Just fabulous representation of our culture.

  • We must free the people of Jamaica and Both Congo and surrounding countries from the grip of the white, Russian, British and Chinese. If I have to die trying I will .

  • Both Me and hubby and alliance are right. We do tend to look at African culture via a Eurocentric gaze. . Thing is, there are certain instances where Africans dancing would have hints of seemingly sexuality involved. however, It being in the west makes it hard for it to not have the hyper-sexualized influences. Just as some traditional African forms have started to become more Christianized if it hasn't already become a syncretic form.
