"We have Been Rolled Under the Bus"
San Francisco city workers and retiree groups held a press conference on July 12, 2011 to expose the serious attacks on retirees and city workers in two so called "reform" plans for their retirement and healthcare. They declared that both the Adachi plan and the plan supported the Mayor Ed Lee and the top union officals did not consult with them. The city workers would lose control of the Health service board and city management would be able to unilaterally raise healthcare costs for retirees. Speakers pointed out that all retiree groups are opposed to these initiatives and that the unions have refused to allow retirees and their representatives to have a place at the table. ABC channel 7 and KTVU channel 2 covered the press conference.
