@sillypenguingirl3 They were there protesting because Alicia's story made national news, which attracted them like blood attracts sharks. Also because her sister is in a relationship with another female. Plus, they were relatively close to Topeka, so it was economic for them to drive to Great Bend to spew their semi-religiously-induced hate speech. They're nothing but bullies and cowards who thrive on the pain and suffering of others. I know Alicia's family from years back. They're good people,

@swlisman why were they protesting alicias funeral??? she was an amazing person....she was sweet kind nice and considerate why would anybody ever want to do that?? i just found out about this i moved only a couple months after her death....

WBC was there protesting at the funeral of a 14-year-old girl who was raped, murdered and her body burned beyond recognition. Just goes to show that these sick people will do anything to get attention. I went to church with the family of the deceased. They are good people who didn't deserve this.

Lol it's a stretch to accuse the westboro baptists of being violent when they are only expressing their religious beliefs. . If this isn't covered under the 1st amendment then simply quoting the bible could be hate speech .

What is happening to Great Bend? I don't like what that church from Topeka is doing at funerals NO WAY! But at the court house? So what. I mean really people, you all need to get a grip. The Bible clearly says homosexuality is an abomination. IF YOU THINK DIFFERENT YOU ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN you are fooling yourself. Signs they are holding where is the wrong in saying what they are saying as long as at a place like the court house? Family Radio has a web site about the end of the world on 5-21-11
