the time for chicago salmon fishing is NOW... season is just entering its peak, should be good for the next few weeks. try your luck at burnham harbor, montrose and belmont not as good, but more accesible. try using a variety of spoons on 10-12lb line, throw out some crankbaits, but spoons tend to work the best. best time to go out is when its dark out, or just before sunrise or just after sunset. good luck, don't forget your fishing license and salmon stamp
