This is a recent performance from a classic tubes track so far back that it never made it onto any of the original Tubes records, but is now on a compilation album. A perfect examle of Fee's theatrical ability, dig how he even DANCES like a mutant. Cool. Shot at the Brookdale Lodge in the Santa Cruz mountains on Halloween weekend 2005, this is from the show the band took to Europe later that year. They pulled the number from the lineup, because, as Fee said, 'They just didn't 'get it' in Europe'

  • Actually they are, but none have been released yet. At the time this show was taped they were recording a new album, but then Gary left the band and those recordings are floating in limbo now.

  • wasn/t this on the wild west tour?

  • I think this show was the last one in the US before they went on that tour which began in Europe. Thanks for your comment!

  • Gawd...Sputnik Spooner looks like Allan Sherman..baby, we're all gittn' older!

  • Actually, the person you are referring to is Gary Cambra who was with the band when they reunited in the 90's. He moved on to greener pastures last year and has not been replaced. If you want to see Spooner look at my Rio Theatre Reunion clip WPOD.

  • good old brookdale lodge. forgot a lot of shows i saw there XD

this tubes looks a hell of a lot cooler than the group i saw at the boardwalk in '09, which was basically Fee and some industry biker burnouts. at least Fee still rules!

  • They did this tune when I saw them, Rick Anderson's sense of rhythm is unfreakingbelievable. Could not stop watching him play. And the combination with Roger Steen and Prairie Prince, man can they crank out some funk!

  • Another Zappa-esque effort by the Tubes.

I so wish that they were still making recordings...

  • This rocks! Many thanks from Florida!

  • Make your mess and clean it.

  • Thanks for posting!

  • This band was always so tight and had the best mixed sound!
