This is a change of direction skill called the inside cut. The player uses their lead foot to stop the ball (reach) and cut back in the opposite direction (using body to block the opposing player)- using the inside of their foot and keeping the ball close to their body. Most commony used in a game by forwards or wings to cut back and make a crossing pass to the center.
