Joyce Bender, Chair of the Epilepsy Foundation, is a woman living with epilepsy and CEO of a firm dedicated to securing employment for people with disabilities. She is a leader in civil rights, called on frequently by the Obama Administration (and previously by the Clinton and Bush administrations) and Congress for her advice and counsel in helping set the disabilities rights agenda for the United States. Bender received the President's Award from Bill Clinton in 1999, honoring her commitment to empowering people with disabilities.
