Travelled to Rovaniemi 6 months ago in the summer time. It was 23 celsius during the day. Not what I expected. Thought it would be much colder. What a great place. So beautiful. Visited the Santa village and park, fantastic ! Would like to go back during the winter time.

@SylvieEvin does the northern lights come out only a special time of the year or every night?

I've born and lived in Rovaniemi for 20 years. It was only when I moved to England I realized how much I love my home town, not to forget my home country. Most of it all, I miss winter. Blue moments, nothern lights.. You'll get to experience them every year. Everything is very beautiful and magical. However, the whole Santa part I would consider highly commercial. And those reindeer competitions.. God I miss home now. And no, they are no polar bears in Finland, just in zoos.

Ive been travellingin Rovaniemi this week, and i loved it, especialy that amazing nature, so beautifull, the cold and white silent forests and frozen lakes, ive done alot of hiking but also had fun in snowmobile. A wonderfull destination to those who like adventure but also beautifull nature...
