Mr. Darcy&Elizabeth: Untouched

Yay! Here is my first, and hopefully not last, Darcy/Lizzy video! :D I just recently read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen for the first time. I chose to study and analyze it for my final project in Studies in Literature. We got to pick a book off of this massive list of classic literature, and for some reason I was immediately drawn to Pride and Prejudice, even though I'd heard of it plenty of times before and never expressed much interest in reading it or watching any film adaptations. Something broke me this year, though, and I'm happy it did!

I love the story. Elizabeth is my favourite character but Mr. Darcy is just amazing. I love the way Matthew Macfayden portrays him in the 2005 movie; he's just so awkward and shy but still there are hints of pride and strength. It's an amazing balance. And Keira Knightley as Lizzy is perfect; she's the right amount of witty and sweet, and you can't help but be mesmerized by her. The two of them together made an amazing Lizzy and Darcy. Rarely does a movie adaptation completely match up to the visions in my head, but this film completely did that.

I chose to use a fairly upbeat song for this video, which might be kind of laughable, since Pride and Prejudice is so subtle and soft. One of the things I like about the story is that, during that time period, what makes love so irresistible is how intimate it can be; with barely any touching. I never would have pegged this song to fit that theme, but it kind of does! From the first moment their fingers brush, the need to come back for more is constant. It's a really pretty and intriguing progression.

I hope you like the video! I don't know how many active P&P fans there are out there, but if you find this and enjoy it, I'm glad! :)
