Project Peace on Earth's first middle east peace initiative, in September of 2010, called "Visions of Peace" consisted of bringing world renown eye surgeon Dr. Paul Dougherty to Hebron Palestine to return eyesight (cataract surgeries) back to 40 elderly Palestinian people within a 2 day period of time. Almost $400.000 in surgeries completely free of charge. The medical mission project was the brainchild of PPOE founder Steve Robertson who also spearheaded the production and coordination of the operation. Dr. Dougherty's surgical staff assistant, Alexis Jacobe, was heroic in pulling together all of the medical supply sponsorship for the mission and as well in coordinating with pre-op preparations with St. John's eye hospital. Alexis and her husband played a key role in during surgeries at the St. John's Eye Hospital in Hebron. Michael Garcia, former head of Development for HBO also attended the trip and helped to direct, along with Steve Robertson, a documentary on the medical mission called "Visions of Peace." The trip was also attended by Colin Mangham who helped with marketing. The Medical Mission could not have occurred without the tireless help, financial support and coordination of Sami Abu Dayyeh of the Ambassador Hotel and Netour, Sami Khoury of ABS Marketing and Fritz Froehlich of the Swiss Agency and UNRWA. A special thanks also to the UN and UNRWA for transportation and logistical support. (PPOE) World Forgiveness Concert for Bethlehem Christmas Day 2013.
