How I blend wool and luxury fibers in the art batts. You can purchase art batts like this one in my shop (http://shopneauveau.com). You can spin these art batts into gorgeous luxury yarns (see the yarn at the end of this video), or felt them, or use them in other fiber arts projects. The drum carder I have is a Louet Classic Carder.

You can purchase a carder just like mine from my friend Elsie of Custom Coverups (customcoverups@yahoo.com). KUDOS: Thanks to Amber (www.designsbyamber.com) for the gorgeous scarflette I am wearing. And Carrena (http://skrappyjoy.etsy.com) for the custom Art Nouveau inspired T-skirt. And Esther (http://jazzturtle.etsy.com) for showing me the "fiber painting" technique. And Lexi (www.pluckyfluff.com) for showing me the "fiber sandwich" technique. Support Your Local Artisans! Thanks for watching.

  • This totally revolutionized my carding.

  • Ashley, this is a wonderful video! I love your voice and the clear instruction. You gave me some confidence and inspiration that I can do some beautiful things with my little hand-me-down drum carder!

And like other comments, I LOVE the sandwich idea, this is new to me and I will definitely be using this with my wool and mohair that I have dyed!

  • Love the "sandwich" technique (fibers piled into sandwich)!! Fun, fun, fun :)

Did you make the beautiful felted cowl that you are wearing in this video? If so, you definately should make a video on how to make it. Love it!!

  • i've have recieved so much from your wonderful videos. if i can't afford a class, i study your videos. i watch them over and over again. thanks for sharing.

  • Great video darlin!! The only thing I want to mention is, Cashmere doesn't go for "hundreds and hundreds of dollars an ounce"... lol, it sometimes feels that way though! You can get it for $20-40 an oz retail, or if you import direct, it is a lot less. ;)

  • where can you buy fibers from???

  • love the finches in the background

  • that came out beautifully

  • Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!

The Louet I use (from my local guild in Scotland) doesn't have the groove on the licker-in drum but, if I'm careful, I can still get the fibre from it to the large drum at the end.

    Love your videos!

  • Yea, The Be Good Tanyas! Oh, and thanks for the tutorial. ;)
