The marriage is over - but the war has just begun.
adonna didn't make Guy Ritchie sign a prenuptial agreement - and now he's going after a chunk of her massive fortune, a friend of hers told the Daily News Wednesday.

The pop icon and her director hubby are said to be worth $521 million, but the Material Mom brought most of that to the marriage.
"Guy wants to make himself out to be a gentleman who's above money," the Madonna pal said hours after the couple confirmed they're splitting.
"If only that was the case. The truth is he's looking for a nice piece of the pie."

Madonna's opening gambit was to offer Ritchie their country estate, Ashcombe House, worth about $12 million, plus $15 million in cash, the Daily Mail reported.
The friend said he's aiming for much more - and can, since the two did not ink a prenup before they tied the knot in a Scottish castle nearly eight years ago.

"I can't imagine Madonna wasn't advised to get one," the insider said. "But she didn't heed that advice. Like a lot of people, she assumed they were going to be married forever."
A joint statement by the couple Wednesday made it clear there are serious unresolved financial and custody issues. "A final settlement has not been agreed upon yet," it said.
If she didn't try to protect her assets before she got hitched, however, Madonna isn't taking chances now.

She's consulted with one of London's savviest divorce lawyers, Fiona Shackleton, who has represented splitting big shots from Prince Charles to Paul McCartney.
Shackleton prefers to settle cases out of the limelight, once saying "a courtroom is a barbaric venue in which to pick over the carcass of a failed marriage."
Her client and her adversary are sure to agree.
"I can't imagine either of them want the sort of public court drama that Paul McCartney and Heather Mills went through," the Madge pal said.
Madonna, 50, and Ritchie, 40, have denied their romance was on the rocks for months - even as she was blamed for the breakup of Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez's marriage.
Behind the brave front, the marriage was slowly disintegrating.
"I don't think it was any one incident," said the friend.
"It just deteriorated. Their being apart - her touring, his filming - added to the strain.
"They're both large presences. They both have strong wills. The reason you marry someone sometimes becomes the reason you hate them."
As the news broke Wednesday, Madge and Guy were in familiar positions - on separate continents.
She went to Boston for the latest dates in her Sticky and Sweet Tour, while he was in London filming "Sherlock Holmes."
Rodriguez was in Florida, but one report suggested he would be spending more time with Madonna - a fellow Kabbalah Centre adherent.
"A-Rod and Madonna are more involved than ever," a source told Us magazine, calling their relationship "definitely romantic."
"Alex has really missed spending time with Madonna," a source said. "However, he understands the position Madonna's in."
Madonna has denied any Yankee-panky, but A-Rod's wife, Cynthia, has accused her of carrying on "an affair of the heart." Alex Rodriguez, 33, had no comment Wednesday.
The London Sun said Ritchie filed for divorce because he was fed up with their fights, Madonna's frequent trips to New York, and her insistence on adopting another child.
They have two children, Rocco, 8, and David, a 3-year-old from Malawi. Madonna also has a 12-year-old daughter, Lourdes, with ex-lover Carlos Leon.
A friend said the relationship was always tempestuous.
"There were always control issues. Guy is a director. He likes to call the shots and, early in their marriage, she liked that, too. But not lately," one pal told The News
