very true and very well said. persson is quite good, she prolly jsut had an off night. her sifare is quite wonderful. about singers and their roles, there is an interview on here with scotto and she talks about how singers no longer collaborate over and over with conductors to fit into their roles. u are jstu supposed to know ur stuff and then ur thrown in there. very very true.

In a new production, singers, I think, should be allowed to grow into their roles before the performance is broadcast. With all the media hype, they must have been under tremendous pressure. Unfortunately, the so-so performance in the premier stays on the recording and creates an impression that this is how the singers perform in the rest of the festival.

Lovely Miah is a wonderful Fiordiligi.Topi, in my opinion, is the best Ferrando alive.
The mise-en-scene is captivating and acting is good-humoured and enthusiastic.
