First off to the Pittsburgh television that broadcast this fireworks display I will gladly remove the video at your request.

Zambelli fireworks and Pyrotecnico Fireworks are two display fireworks giants located in New Castle Pennsylvania. New Castle is located near the town of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. For decades the city of Pittsburgh July 4th fireworks were done by Zambelli Fireworks. This year 2009, the display was done by Pyrotecnico. I am posting it here for others outside of Pittsburgh to enjoy. I guess we will have to wait to see who does the display next year. As far as I am concerned I dont care who is shooting fireworks I enjoy watching them. While I work part time for Zambelli I certainly have respect for Pyrotecnico and wanted to add this display to my channel.
Now I expect everyone to be respectful with their comments.

Here is a news article I will copy and paste a news article that explains the situation.

This year, ISM-USA, which runs the Regatta, has changed the fireworks show. Although the Regatta has used the fireworks company Zambelli Fireworks International, of New Castle, Lawrence County, for last two decades, officials will be using a new company, Pyrotecnico, also of New Castle, said ISM-USA Senior Vice President Michael Dongilli.
Mr. Dongilli said they wanted to try something "different" this year to "elevate the showmanship."
Zambelli Fireworks International President Doug Taylor said he was "disappointed" by the Regatta's decision to not use his company.
"We were surprised because we had done it for so many years and we had done it vey well for so many years," he added. "We are determined to be back shooting with them" next year.
Mr. Dongilli said the Regatta is simply trying out the company this year and will re-evaluate the situation for next year's event.
Pyrotechnico did not immediately respond to a request for comment this afternoon. But during a press conference earlier in the day, Pyrotecnico officials said their show will last 25 minutes and will feature 22,000 fireworks devices.

  • pyrotechnico does my cities to

  • they're a pollutant...just like a fart...major? not when compared with just about everything else...think about all the cars and airplanes going every single day, then all the gas and coal fired power plants...fireworks are a pollutant, there's no doubt...but their scope is quite limited, unlike many other things. i mean, hell burning logs in your fireplace is a pollutant.

  • very nice touch with the Red mag comets for the "rockets red glare"

  • is it true that fireworks are a major pollutant? please, no disrespect towards fireworks i love ém to death, but just how much crap do they let off in the air???

  • Very interesting! I've never heard of compressed air being used for launching.

  • Yeah, I've heard of the system too, I can't remember the name either. With professional fireworks, non-digital time fuses can still be pretty consistant, so if the computer knows how early to shoot the firework, the break can still be on time. I think only the first two shots use the digital system, and the lift charge if compressed air. Disneyland uses mostly all compressed air if I remember correctly. In Illuminations most of the music cues are mines or comets, so it makes it easier to sync

  • At Epcot's displays, Digital timing fuses are used instead of traditional fuses. The advantages of the digital fuses is that they can be told to go off EXACTLY when told to. It's not a crap shoot like regular timing fuses. For more information.... Fuck... I cant find the link anymore...

  • They stole the music from Illuminations! That's Epcot's fireworks show in Walt Disney World. This song calls for exact timing of the breaks to the music, otherwise, the entire time I'm just thinking about how much better the Disney version is.

  • they are some beautiful breaks just on/above the water

  • Maybe the city saw Pyrotecnico's Montreal display and liked what they saw? Gave USA the win.
