Hard to believe but she was an European champion on this event in 1996..

Hiidddeeoussss.
-
god awful bar set

Like someone else said Raducan quit because of major knee problems.
Anyway, I agree. Simona was probably the hardest working gymnast that went to the 2000 games. Although, I do believe Raducan deserved the gold more on the night.

@PLANETIMAGE1 Weight is not why Raducan quit it was because she had knee problems, if you look at the 2001 Worlds you will see her knee is taped. If you look at recent pictures you will find she had gained little to no weight. Libertatea did an article on her not too long ago and she said she weighed only a little more than when she was a gymnast.

Simona might not be an artistic gymnast, but her hard-work has earned many people's respect, she probably worked harder than most of the other gymnasts. I'm so happy that she got the AA gold in 2000.Raducan is also a great gymnast, but she did NOT put in as much work as Simona did, especially considering Raducan only continued a few years after syndey, because her weight was not manageable any more. While the weight problem never happened to Simona, why? BECAUSE SHE WORKED MUCH HARDER!!!!

@ferency98 Oh, I would KILL to see another Silivas on bars!
-
Agree with you, bent legs .I dont think she was as flexible as some of her team mates.
The only place i see her extend her legs was onvault where she can really twist and fully extend.Bear in mind that she wasn't known as a barsworker, she is a tumbler although if she was better on bars she might have won an AA World Title.
-
Hmm she did a good job stop being negative.

I totally agree.Bent legs galore.
Hideous! I thought her bars were better the year prior. Bent legs in giants and no handstand position.

She was actually better on bars in 95-96 which much nicer form. I did not say great, I said better. Her bars got worse as she got older.
