This is a saw that was given to me in a box of parts. I didn't have a piston for it, so I modified the crankshaft connecting rod to accept a STIHL 066 piston. This will bring the compression way up and set squish somewhere just under 20thou with a head gasket. Also basic port job done and muffler modded a little. Still stock ignition timing.

  • Yep, been cut once without the saw running, fell on the chain from about 4 feet off a log, but never with the chain moving. The reason for not having protective pants on is, just plain old being lazy and stupid. Some of these saws cut fast enough to go through you leg in no time, saw cuts are the nastiest thing to heal, they leave a huge chunk of scar tissue that will bother you forever.

  • Not really, just basic air tools. A little bit of narrowing of the top of the connecting rod with a die grinder to accept the narrower wrist pin bearing and your in business. Thanks for the compliment.

  • @taylor2105

chain going round all the time sounds like clutch springs , to me , you can get new ones for a few dollars .

if its going round fast its clutch springs , if its going slow , maybe just needs a little turn on the big screw next to the carb I have worked a lot with these saws and still have a few

  • plenty of poke in that saw,it that a chinees copy??????????
