Mr. Scootles Comic Book Trailer

When two college students watch a film starring a forgotten 1930's cartoon character named Mr. Scootles they unknowingly open a portal to Hell. If the end of the world wasn't enough to deal with, they must also contend with a murderous professor who wants to seize the cursed films reel.

there used to be a cartoon that i watched in the 80's, where the main character (i believe he was a frog - i remember him being green) was always letting his curiosity lead him to areas that endangered his livelihood. Every time the heat came on, monsters emerging, etc., he would call for help, saying "Help me, Mr. Wizard." Does anyone remember what cartoon that was?
