  • It is leftist government POLICY FISTS that are damaging & tearing America's fanny. That's why we need Prep H...Because of Leftists who never sleep.

  • @TheJoozie I am a conservative as well. But you do realize that all of the negative possibilities of the Patriot Act are already possible. Much of what you described is illegal, but if I took the time, I could do the same to you. The Patriot Act doesn't allow the gov't to do terrible things, it allows them to have an easier time in court. If someone in the government wanted to screw with you or me, they don't need the Patriot Act, or even a law.

  • @KriegWaters parents review phone and internet of their children??? Is the government YOUR parent? They are not MINE. I am a conservative republican. Not a progressive republican. We do not need to "progress" past our constitution. It was written perfectly, needs no "interpretation" and should never be circumvented.

  • @KriegWaters There are MANY other intrusive and violative provisions of the Patriot Act, which clearly and dramatically emasculates key provisions of our Bill of Rights. The founders of this country were conservative and were ALL about freedom from government intrusion on daily lives which is WHY we have our constitution and bill of rights. The reason there was a sunset clause in the first place is because members of congress had a problem the intrusions and violations of our rights.

  • @KriegWaters It allows government agents to conduct document searches and seizures of businesses as well. Any company, including employers, libraries, Internet providers, banks, bookstores and video stores must provide all records relating to the subject under investigation. Again, these entities cannot inform anyone, including the suspect or the media, that they have been rifling through their files. A violation of this provision is a federal offense that can result in imprisonment.

  • @KriegWaters the government has routine access to your educational and financial/banking records as long as the government asserts that snooping through your records is “related to a terrorism investigation.” What this means is that all a government agent has to say to get access to your records is, “We’re conducting a terrorism investigation.” And, believe it or not, your school or bank cannot inform you that the government has gotten this information.

  • @KriegWaters Under the Patriot Act, the definition of terrorism is expanded to cover anyone or any group that tries to bring about change for political or ideological reasons and uses any kind of force to bring it about. This could range from nailing a poster to a courthouse door to carrying a picket sign. The government can, and most likely already has, conducted black bag and sneak and peak searches. In other words, can come into your home and search without even telling you they were there.

  • @KriegWaters If the intelligence community becomes involved in the unneccesary surveilance of innocent civilians, the time, expense, and manpower devoted to this is diverted from genuine threats. The end result is less security, not more. the Patriot Act broadened the already immense powers of the federal government, not only in regard to investigations relating to terrorism but also to criminal investigations.

  • @KriegWaters The Patriot Act makes the Thought Police a real possibility. This is why law enforcement was required to get permission and provide notification. It permits ordinary citizens to catch the scent of this kind of activity, permitting correction by civil and political action. A crucial part of the checks and balances of the American system has been disabled. And NOW we have "hate crime" legislation. So we are not equally protected under the law!

  • @KriegWaters oh that's rich. the FBI having unlimited power to monitor every communication citizens have isn't a problem? a law which could be used to suspend normal due process in the investigation and prosecution of anyone, not just terrorists isn't a problem? If a group within the intelligence community

decided that only those with the proper political views should rise to prominent positions, the Patriot Act would give them the clout to find out who does or doesn't hold these views.
