Project Teza is Azafady's maternal HIV prevention programme running in Fort Dauphin, south east Madagascar. On International Women's Day after a vibrant carnival through the centre of the town, 70 Teza women gathered to have their own celebrations. This included a hula hoop competition for which the winner was awarded a chicken. The women had only seen a hula hoop for the first time 4 weeks before in their Teza dance class. It has since started a craze and as you can see from the video the women have taken it on with enthusiasm.
