I know I've changed some peoples' minds about homophobia and religion by poetry. Even if it's just a slight change, it helps.

It can be. It depends on what you call "poetry" though. I find some debates to be "poetic" and some speeches as well. Music is just poetry to music, and that has been known to change things. And poetry itself can as well, by changing minds.

Great poem I like it very much! Poetry can change the world if people let it, but at the end of the day its up to people to make a difference.

Thanks for the comment! Sometimes I feel that there is no way to change the world... But in all honestly, I think writing and having conviction in that writing is what really makes a difference. Getting your writing out there may be where the problem lies, which I'm sure, all us poets know all too well.
