He's said in interviews that kids don't care (and parents obviously know already that Elmo's a puppet). To them, Elmo is a little furry red monster and that's the end of that. Kevin's just a guy carrying Elmo around.

Think of it like this, imagine the traditional flying a plane at your kid using the spoon. You make the noise and imitate the flying plane, even though they see that you are clearly holding the spoon and making the noises - they still interact with that imitation of the spoon as if it was a plane. Kids would IMAGINE a REAL plane minus the imitation of one. that would be clear to an adult. Kevin said it before that kids hold their imagination a lot longer than adults.

@STRONGO39 Kevin isn't a ventriloquist.. plus as he said in another interview most kids don't even acknowledge Kevin, all they see is Elmo.

@STRONGO39 I don't think the kids see it like that. The reason why kids like these characters so much is because of their imagination, so when they see Elmo with Kevin they probably see it as somebody carrying around their best friend sort of thing.

Don't be angry, when kids below 8-10 sees this, most only notice the stuffed toy and ignore the person behind it believe it or not.

he love childrens

@STRONGO39 Both kids and adults have said that it's very hard to connect the puppeteer with the puppet when you see them together - even though Elmo's on his hand, he's all people tend to see.

@hypnodude EVERYONE believes, every once in a while.

Me too!
When Kevin brings Elmo out like that he destroys the illusion of life with elmo because the kids and parents can clearly see that he is doing this.Kevin if you want to walk around with elmo like that you should study the art of ventriloquism you dig.

Actually nobody seemed to care. We were all thrilled to meet both of them. He isn't a ventriloquist, he is a puppeteer. He is just being nice to let kids (and parents) meet Elmo face to face. I think the kids are so thrilled with Elmo that they ignore the truth :) Kevin seems like a neat guy, so its cool to meet the guy behind the puppet too. But you're entitled to feel that way if you want.
