Our flyover tour continues from the back of Union Station, in Old Town Square. We catch a brief glimpse of the magnificant HENRY statue, commemorating the arrival of Mr. Henry, and the original settlers (who came over the Henry Mountains in a caravan of Mercedes convertibles, after a long journey across the wilderness). The SOUTH WIND, and the HUMMINGBIRD (great Louisville and Nashville Railroad trains stand ready to depart in the station).
We head to the top of Overlook Hill, and have a birdseye view of town from the steeple of the Henryville Baptist Church, with its lovely Old English cemetery garden. The brick, colonial Presbyterian Church is in view, as is the plain white frame Methodist Church. We see some of the San Francisco Street homes (which I did an extraordinarily good job of modeling). The trolley line stretches out down North Avenue, passing the "Gone with the Wind" house, and the Blue Lagoon Water Slide and childrens play area. We catch an overlook of the Police and Fire Stations, as well as the cross shaped brick colonial City Hall on Main Street (at the intersection of Market Street).
We finish with a brief look at Old Square from Union Station, including the "first" building ever constructed in Henryville (circa 1965), the old Railroad Hotel.
