On May 21st, 2011 spotters reported a funnel cloud and rotation near Auburn, KS. Immediately Shawnee County sounded the sirens. Shortly after a Tornado Warning was issued. Numerous funnels were spotted and even two EF0 tornadoes did touch down. The sirens sounded numerous times. Heres the first sounding, plus the warning going out over the weather radio.

  • @as65556 Yes, an EF0 was recorded SW of town and another in the east part of town.

  • That was the same day that Joplin, MO was destroyed by a deadly tornado.

  • I live in Johnson County Kansas And We Have The Same Sirens. I live in the apartment place next to Spin Pizza (AKA The Avignon) and the sirens are right next to the apartment complex and it's LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!!!!!!!! BTW GO JAYHAWKS!!!!! :)
