CLOSING MY EYES
by: Rick Byrum
We came together,
Meshed into one.
Time stood still.
Tongue explorers.
Roaming limbs.
Wet suction.
When we are aligned:
lip to lip,
nose to nose,
I could slip
Into a dream
Without ever
Closing my eyes.
I look into yours,
And they merge
Into one round
Cyclops eye.
Yours is blue,
Mine is brown.
Then we slide:
Lip to lip,
Tongue to tongue.
Your heart beats
Against mine.
As I slowly,
Close my eyes.
Hand on yours,
I feel at peace.
Your lips upon
My bare chest.
My mind travels.
My soul finds rest.
Then we sink:
Lip to lip,
Heart to heart.
I breathe in,
As you exhale,
The air I need.
Closing my eyes.
The fates be true
In what they do.
Their web of weave
Is what brought
Me to you.
Elysian majesty is mine.
Then we stir:
Lip to lip,
Eye to eye.
Did we hear
Someone come?
It doesn't matter,
As I close my eyes.
