So dust hill zone makes the cut but my two other faves don't, Casino Night and Oil Ocean Zone? (Angry M. Bison face from SFA3) "Why!!!!!!?"

@Derlandvermesser I'm not exact about the entire year, but I'm positive that Sega beat out Nintendo in sales for the holiday season (which is a large chunk of the yearly sales) and applied heavy pressure on Nintendo. At this point, numerous polls compared the popularity of Mario and Sonic, they almost unanimously showed Sonic was more popular (at that time). The reason I am stating all this is that I am and for a long time have been a HUGE SONIC FAN (and always will be).

Where's the coolest song of the game, the casino night zone song???

@imrannova That's not true at all. Nintendo always enjoyed the majority of market share until the release of Playstation. They DOMINATED the 8 bit market with NES, and the SNES completely outsold Genesis on it's release year (1991), despite the fact that Sega had a 16 bit system for 2 years already. They had to release a peripheral (Sega CD in late '91) AND drop the price to even try to keep up. Sega couldn't do what Nintendid. Prolly why Sega folded and Wii U will be released soon.

Anyone remember having that heart attack whenever u heard the drowning music play?? Even 2 inches from the waters surface? xD ah, the old times... no other song in the world creates that panic feeling... EVER...
This was such a special game that in 91-92' consumers saw the SNES pull with: Super Mario World, Link to the Past, Sim city, Pilot Wings etc. Sega was mainly pulling with this game (and obviously Sonic 1). And for that 1 year Sega beat out Nintendo. Mainly on the steam of this one great game.
