World record fail - Hexic Deluxe: 51 pearls

This game is probably dead but I recently spotted TheOGDeadcell's video and felt like giving this game another shot...

-How long did this take?

about 20 hours, including about 3 hours spent on thinking how to reach 53 pearls.

Did you save/try and error it at any point?

No. You'll just have to take my word for that. I'm am honest player.

-I ran my Ultra Anti-Fake Pixel Scanner Deluxe over every frame of this and noticed that it actually says 3945 minutes (=65 hours 45 minutes) total.

Well, that's because I have no intention of playing hexic for 20 hours straight, so I took some breaks. However, the screen needs to remain open (this is the msn version and cannot be saved) or the game is gone, so I left my laptop on for 3 days.

-What if a bomb falls?

the board automatically resets when there is no direct possibility to cluster 3 normal pieces. This means that all normal pieces change color (stars and pearls are unaffected) and bombs turn to normal pieces. So whenever a bomb falls, it's simply a matter of separating identical-colored pieces and wait for the board to reset.
This is also why the stats show so little bombs (if you can't read it: it says "13").

-That sounds like cheating.

It's a built-in feature of the game, both for the xbox and pc version, so it's not cheating, it was meant to happen by the creators.

-Is there any difference between the PC version and the xbox version?

No. The only difference is that you need to manually click to change the rotation, which makes it slightly more common to make a mistake.
(edit: I discovered yesterday that you can also hit the spacebar.)

-I think this is fake.

-Did you figure this all out by yourself?

Yes, apart from the design of the pearl structure, I copied that from TheOGDeadcell. Props to him. And a very nice job in doing this world first.

-The video quality is bad.

I know, especially at the end, when there was a problem with the video editing. I don't have access to high tech stuff. Too bad.

-You have enough stars at your disposal. Why didn't you create a double flower like TheOGDeadCeLL?

I tried and failed. There just wasn't enough room. The limit is not determined by what fits in the screen, but by what can be created without clustering anything.
