It does not matter how strongly you oppose gun ownership. The Second Amendment of the constitution of the United States of America explicitly states that all people have the RIGHT to bear arms, and that this right SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. This amendment was included in the bill of rights in order to maintain security and protect freedom of the people from criminal agendas and government suppression. Voidance or infringement of any right is in violation of the constitution.

The power in the United States being vested primarily in the hands of the People ,not the government, that this amendment was written to ensure that the People had the arms to defend themselves , their families, and their country from all threats, foreign and domestic . If you understood The Declaration of Independence,believed in it , it states that the people have the right and duty to remove a government that is destructive to the People's safety and happiness.Thus the 2nd guarantees all.

Gun control is simply government mistrust in the people, and obviously that never works. The only way to improve society is to invest faith within the people, otherwise, you face possible totalitarianism.
