Someone is selling that exact unit on JerzeeDevil at the moment. It's traded hands with a few people so far. I wonder why.

im not a knife expert or anything but isnt that more of a sheep's foot blade? because wharnecliffe style blades have a more protruding tip for penetration.

HAHA why can't anyone see that pmhauge is an idiot? wharncliffe blades are sailors blades. their shape is designed to cut rope and cordage, while the blunt ass "point" aids to prevent stabbing of oneself on a rocking boat. just THINK dudes. lots of these knives have anchors etched /inlaid on the handle. nearly every type of good slashing blade has a belly, and any double edge dagger or clip point blade will be a way better "stabber". the point of this knife is to look cool and scary period

A lot of people underestimate the usefulness and effectiveness of the wharncliffe style blade. It's my favorite design both from an aesthetic and tactical standpoint. Pmhauge basically explained it as well as anyone can, it's just a fantastic design that doesn't get enough attention because people think it's only for cutting seatbelts. Trust me, it's very effective in almost any situation you could think of. More knives need to be offered in this style.

Wharncliffe blades keep the cutting edge in contact with the surface longer. Due to the straight cut, once the blade makes contact, it stays there regardless of whether contact was at the tip or midway down the blade. In addition, the large wedge that is apparent on the top forward edge of the blade enhances the penetration of the blade when stabbing. As the blade enters, the wedge forces the cutting edge down as it moves forward, shearing along its length and penetrating extremely well.
