Here's a medley played in the open G tuning (DGDGBD), which is sometimes known as the Spanish tuning. This is possibly my favourite tuning which I have hopefully done justice by playing these following songs on a Taylor 310 (amazing guitar!).

The songs go like this...

"Holly", which is an original peice of mine, then it's...

"Spanish Two Step" (sometimes known as Hawaiian Two Step) by the master, John Fahey, which is great fun to play, followed by...

"Spanish Flang Dang"/Fangdango by Elizabeth Cotten, who is one of my favourite musicians, and finally...

A short intro section of John Fahey's "On The Sunny Side of The Ocean", which is the best thing that I have heard in this tuning, and one of my favourite pieces of all time!

Hope you guys enjoy this and please rate and comment!

  • hey - your original composition is really good! I can imagine it pretty well with a steady bass drum coming in when you really get into it, i.e. around 0.40s. kinda reminds me of a song by the coral [thats a compliment :)]

    well done!

  • wow, that is a compliment, they're one of my favourite bands. cheers for the comment
