@HerrDalton It use to be used more in the NBA, but not so much anymore. There are so many bad free throw shooters here though, so I think that is the reason we don't risk it in the NBA.

@zachdahater Standard play in europe - never give the opponents a chance to tie a game, if there is like 10 second on the clock. After freethows you usually control the ball and you can pass it to your best shooter to run down the clock and to make freethows.

@HerrDalton No one does that anymore, it's a stupid strategy. What if you miss YOUR freethrows after fouling a team?? Then the other team only has to score a 2 pointer. I've personally NEVER seen anyone use that strategy, and it's probably because THROUGH TRAIL AND ERROR over decades of basketball, coaches have discovered that IT DOESN'T WORK most times. Just defend the possible 3 point shooters on the floor and make them attempt a tough shot. Don't GIVE them 2 points.
