  • favorite song off the new album so far......if you dont like j.t.e. you just dont like music.

  • This song is so evocative of his exhaustion and sadness of being on the road. I pray that he heals and gets back his vigor and love of life while he takes some time off. We love you Justin!!

  • Gonna see him open for Tom Snider at the Ryman in June, can't wait.

  • This is the kind of music I want to do.

  • I like the cigarette smoke and empty beer bottle in the back ground

  • I've played, and sent links to this song to every member of my family, None of them seem to get the clue that I'm playing it to them because it represents precisely how I'm feeling at the moment...

Aside from that, Justin puts his soul out front every time he plays. A tortured soul perhaps, but a fucking brave man too...

  • Im the 201 person to thumbs up this.

  • if you don't like justin townes earle you can piss off.

  • CHECK OUT MY LIVE,COVER OF THIS SONG HERE!!!

  • anyone know what kind of guitar that is?

  • blues at its finest.....

Not to mention that he grew up poor with an absent, drug addicted dad. People assume JTE had all the advantages as Steve's son, but Steve didn't make it until Justin was about 5, and within a few years Steve had blown his career and was homeless. He recovered, but damage done.

That said, I do think JTE needs to take responsibility for his own actions at this point, especially with regard to booze and drugs. I read his twitter feed occasionally, and he does like to whine.
