It's not like they're engaged!
At the end of the day they were all there to be Sir Alan's apprentice, and Kate, a bit annoying, is smart enough not to let a little bit of flirting get in the way. Philip was the worst contestant out of the 3 there and she could hardly ignore that fact. There's romance and there's business.

Certainly Kate didnt try her best this time, but she represented herself very well in the board room! She is very smart girl!!
