  • The bass ought to be a little louder in these examples. The drums really drown him out.

  • @SpiritOfDetroit John Deacon. Bobby Vega. Paul McCartney. Roger Waters. John Paul Jones. Do I really need to continue? I am predominantly a pizzicatto player, but a pick is just fine. You are seriously misinformed.

  • @SpiritOfDetroit Incorrect. You need to check history. It's not on your side. Playing with your fingers is just one way of going about it.

  • @SpiritOfDetroit

how so? im not saying only play with a pick, im saying give both a chance... you obviously need to get a better education...

  • @beansandcornbread You don't know shit about shit. No greats play with a pick. The fundamental block of bass playing is PLAYING WITH YOUR FINGERS, PERIOD.

  • @gm3dgames No, you are limiting your ability on bass by playing with a pick. You have no clue what you are talking about.

  • @beansandcornbread You obviously aren't a musician, or worse, think that you are a musician. You have proven you don't know anything about bass playing. Only a convert guitar player would play bass with a pick. Bass is supposed to be played with your fingers, period. Only a talentless hack would use a pick.

  • @SpiritOfDetroit

well idiot, I DO play with a band and i DO know what i am talking about. Being more open to more techniques is what makes you a good musician and in this case a great bassist. Finger picking can be hard for most people AT THE START. Finger picking is really nothing special, it didn't start on the electric bass in the first place anyway. If you want to be a serious musician instead of a pathetic troll of youtube then try be more creative and learn that its not all in the fingers

  • @SpiritOfDetroit You obviously are a child. No adult could be this stupid. It's a different style that produces different sounds. One day when you grow up you will realize how moronic you sound.

  • @beansandcornbread No greats play with a pick. Truly "great" bass players play with their fingers.

  • @gm3dgames Yes, playing with your fingers inherently makes you a better bass player. It requires more talent to play with your fingers. Playing with a pick is a crutch, PERIOD. You don't know what you're talking about. I'd imagine you've never played with a band. Loser.
