I wasn't trying to be critical, just trying to help.I would also try to get in the habit of sitting up more and pulling to the knee not the hip, it will help keep you more balanced in a bad situation.

I wasn't trying to be critical, it just looked like a little added step could be added to your program.. just trying to help.. Sorry about that...

@gcoxalaska This is a clip , 54 seconds long how can you have the right to criticise it.
The one rein stop is to be used in all occasions where the horse has bolted or bucked/reared so you will not always have the same stirrup lengths or seat, it can be used when jumping, hacking, schooling or any other time. It is a maneuver not meant to be practised regularly otherwise incorrect muscle build up will happen. You should be able to do it anytime anywhere on any horse.

The One Rein Stop is a great tool IF used properly, you're almost there. Some advice, shorten your stirrups about 4" & then when you are practicing your OneReinStop, make sure you are using Both sides so she isn't always being pulled to your right. Also, the 1st que to stop is SitUp, LegsOff,SayWhoa and then Pull. NoStop? Reach back & tap her with your heel, give her 2-3strides to fix herself then tap&kick again until she does. Soon enough she will stop at SitUp.Learn to tap&kick though
What a stunning looking mare. Thank you for sharing this video!
